Tiki - Caricature Artist - Honolulu, HI

Tiki started his illustrious career in Southern California drawing band members of hjs step-dads Dixieland Band, The Jelly Rolls. Traveling with them from gig to gig, he would wile away the hours by drawing people in the audience as well.

Having to pay for his college tuition, he obtained a job painting tatoos at Six Flags Magic Mountain, Valencia. After being promoted from tattoo painting to caricature drawing , he honed his craft amidst the gang fights and cotton candy. Again, promoted to Universal Studios in Hollywood, he drew movie posters, storyboards, and a daily comic strip, whilst entertaining tourists from around the world.

Bored by the banality of existence and tinsel of Hollywood, he went to Japan to revel in the ancient wisdom of Budha, exotica of the orient, the perfection of the tea ceremony, anime, and sushi. Working at Tokyo Disneyland,he was regularly checked for dirty fingernails, distracting jewelry, or body odor. Having passed those tests,he went on to cut silhouettes and airbrush "guests" on approved Mickey paper.

Venturing off to other massive theme parks in Japan, he partnered up with a Ronin, an Emperess, and a Preistess of the Night, eventually running his own cartoon concession at two other well know theme parks in the area; SEGA Joyopolis and Sea Paradise. After being wildly successful, at business and love, he and his small family decided to move to Hawaii, where their son could grow up speaking English (yes, we do speak English in Hawaii) and frolic in the natural beauty, fresh air, and clean water. He subsequently put on 20 pounds.

In Hawaii Tiki developed his digital graphic and animation skills, creating video games and a TV animation. After a nine year hiatus, he has returned to his roots...caricature drawing, with a twist. He does so on a tablet computer, drawing directly onto the screen. This new technology is the "wave of the future" (as one eccentric aviator billionaire once quipped) and indeed does have it's advantages.
