Marc H - Caricature Artist - Vermont

Marc H has been cartooning since the fourth grade, well, he may have started copying Mad Magazine images and Charlie Brown, but he was drawing. By eigth grade his art teacher threatened failure if he kept copying the work of other's, so he began to create his own. But caricatures eluded him. He could not capture the essence of people with his cartooning style. Not even the goofiest of teachers.

Finally, with some mileage from his left hand, an opportunity landed on his lap from a gift catalogue company in Colorado. The job was to draw "sports" caricatures via the mail. He received photos from peopel and he drew them. He started out ever so slowly, but with time he came to rely less and less on his eraser and eventually gained the speed to draw in public.

His first caricature job was at Church Street marcetplace in Burlington, VT. After 4 years of honing his skills there he decided to expand his talents into becoming a more rounded illustrator. Along with graphic design work, book writing, illustrating, and teaching cartooning he began to also draw at parties and events.

Since then he has worked at many Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, conventions, parties, and even drawn at several ski lodges!
