Michelle Lydon - Caricature Artist - Great Barrington, MA

Michelle Lydon has always been an artist. Growing up in a small town on the south coast of Massachusetts, she achieved her first likeness of a fellow student who was posed standing on a desk in fifth grade art class. During junior high school, she attended summer drawing classes at nearby Swain School of Design. At the invincible age of eighteen, she moved to New York City to attend Parsons School of Design. As an Illustration major, she also completed work study hours as a student aide in the office of the Chair of the Department, where she interacted with all of the students and faculty.

Caricatures became a habit to pass the quieter moments, first as a poke at the people who were the most bothersome, then by popular demand. After graduation, Michelle began to give caricatures as gifts. Soon people were requesting rates. Today, she lives in the beautiful Berkshire Hills of western Massachusetts where her unique style of caricature and illustration are recognized as part of the area's rich artistic landscape.
