Joel is a product of New York's famed High School of Music & Art where, as the son of two artists who themselves met while students at The Art Institute in Chicago, he naturally focused on the skills associated with drawing utensil and paper. After earning a B.S. in Journalism from Southern Illinois University, he continued art as an avocation and eventually as a side business.
Joel's caricatures and cartoon illustrations have been featured in advertising and marketing materials, business publications and even billboards. His "gift" work can be found in the corporate and private suites of such notables as George Clooney, Barry Manilow, Kevin Pollack and the late Ray Kroc...as well as the homes of friends and colleagues. He is as comfortable at a 7-year-old's birthday party as he is at a bar mitzvah; and is as accustomed to corporate events as he is to a wedding.
